NZSS 2014 - Long (2014-07-18)

Hesitant at the begining of the race. Much of the map had more dense undergrowth than marked. Slower pace up the hill from 9 to 10 than usual. 1 minute mistake to 13 infront of the event centre as I lost map contact and concerntration following an unmarked track branching off the road between 12 and 13. Hard to relocate in the vague depressions around 13. Not sure if mapped accurately. Huge 3 minute mistake to 16. Very dense undergrowth and lost myself in the complex of broken fences covered by undergrowth. Dropped from 4th down to 7th on this one control and had no room to make up the lost time.
